History: Lambda Theta Alpha was founded as an Academic sorority at Kean University NJ in 1975. It was the FIRST LATINA SORORITY ever established in the nation. You can visit our national website @ www.lambdalady.org
Mission: The purpose of Lambda Theta Alpha is to provide a sisterhood based on Unity, Love, and Respect. To develop strong Leaders who will then provide and practice political, social and cultural activities. To promote Latino Unity* through charitable and educational programs. To maintain a high standard of learning and serve as a voice for all Latino students.
* Although Lambda Theta Alpha was founded as a Latina Sorority, it believes in serving all communities in need. It is an organization that fights for the empowerment of all women, regardless of their race, color, creed, or origin.
GOALS:ScholarlyExcellence, empowerment of Latinas and the universal woman, cultural and political awareness, and community activism.
ORIENTATION: Women of ALL ethnicities.
